The OSP was created with the belief that all students, regardless of income or zip code, should have access to a quality education, and that parents should have the freedom to decide the best learning option for their children.
Since 2004 the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program has participated with D.C. private schools to provide low-income students access to a high quality education. Currently 47 D.C. private schools accept Opportunity scholarships. Every year students use their scholarships to pay for tuition, uniforms, transportation, and other school related fees.
Scholarships for the 2017-2018 school years are up to $8,653 for elementary and middle schools, and up to $12,981 for high school. If your school is interested in becoming a participating school, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 202-464-6712.
